Reel Big Fish - We're Not Happy 'Til You're Happy
WHY?!!!! Seriously, did the band not listen to this album before it was released? The sound quality of this album is circa 1980 in some retard's basement. There is so much echoing and reverb on the vocals that I am not sure if Aaron Barrett is singing or the teacher from Charlie Brown. I know it has been about 3 years since their last release, but did they forget what CD quality is supposed to sound like? Did it cost the band too much to do the cover songs that they copped out on quality studio recording? That said, being a RBF fan, this album was enjoyable. As always these guys know how to make catchy and comical songs, except for the song "A-W-E-S-O-M-E" which only a deaf man could love. The covers of Tracy Chapman's "Talkin Bout a Revolution" and Social D's "Story of My Life" are extremely well done and make this album worth buying for any RBF fan. On the other hand, if I had to choose between potato gunning a kitten and listening to the first half of this album, you can say "bye bye kitty", but some songs on the album like "Your Guts (I Hate 'Em)" and "Don't Start a Band" were highly amusing and even make you laugh (when you can understand the words). I found the most solid songs on the album to be the final four of the album, which coincidentally would also make you believe that this is the last album RBF will release. As a fan, I can only hope they make another album and totally redeem themselves as a kitten's life might depend on it.
You got lucky this time kitty.
